Abdullah Al-Shabanat is a Vice President of the Machinery and Energy Cluster in the National
Industry Development Center (NIDC), Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. He also lead the
Industrial Equipment Sector Team for the National Industrial Promotion Committee (NIPC) under the
guidance of His Excellency the Vice Minister, Ministry of Industry, and Mineral Resources, and His
Excellency the Minister of Investment. Additionally, he serves as the Chairman of the Industrial
Council for the Machinery and Equipment sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
With over 17 years of experience in power and industrial manufacturing in KSA, his expertise spans
engineering, project management, sales, account management, sector development, and investment
attraction. Throughout his career, he has worked with several global multinational companies and
public sector entities, holding various senior leadership positions, including Sector Director at
SAGIA, Sr. Country Sales Manager at GE, Sr. Sales Engineer at ABB, and Technical Prequalification
Engineer at SWCC.
He was honored to receive the ‘Invest Saudi Award for attracting SAR 300B FDI’ during his tenure at
SAGIA. Additionally, he has received multiple letters of appreciation for my contributions at ABB,
particularly for successfully re-energizing the cooling project in the Holy Mosque in Makkah ahead of
schedule.
He hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh and am an
active member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.
